Singapore Opposition Party Site Hacked

The Singapore Democratic Party’s (SDP) web site has been defaced, but, curiously, the government opposition party has taken the attack as a compliment, preferring to leave its hacked site intact.

Reporting on the saga, the Straits Times says that party plans on setting up a new web site, with another domain name, leaving the old site — with the message ‘Mature Sex’ on its front page — intact.

The paper says that the SDP left a message on the Sintercom political discussion forum, saying that the party takes the hack as a compliment on the efficacy of the site and its contents.

Bizarrely, other Singaporean reports say the hacker that changed the SDP’s front page is thought to be from Poland.
